Happy Herts Orienteering Club (Hertfordshire Orienteering Club)

Sport / Outdoor AdventureHealth

The Hertfordshire Orienteering Club (less formally known as Happy Herts or HH) exists to promote the sport of orienteering across Hertfordshire. The club puts on quality events several times a year and provides a social framework for club members to meet, encourage one another, share post-event analyses, train together... and have some fun together!

Orienteering is a sport for individuals or groups of all ages, and is particularly suitable for families. Walking or running, Happy Herts members navigate forests and open spaces throughout Hertfordshire by means of special coloured maps.

Courses vary in length between about 2km for children and beginners to over 12km for experienced adult orienteers. They also have special follow-the-string courses for small children.

The events usually take place on Sunday mornings between 10.00am and 12.00pm. More local events are held on the first Saturday of each month 10.00am-12.00pm.
