NRYA (The Nichola Rees Youth Academy) in Watford

Entertain Me

Performing Arts Academy for children and young people aged 6-18 years old, come along and get involved , you'll love it.

The NRYA/Nichola Rees Youth Academy was founded by its namesake in September 1995.

Giving confidence and inspiring young lives in a positive way has been the hallmark of the NRYA. The abiding vision is of a young ensemble of children, crossing all backgrounds, working together creatively and in the process learning many lessons about social responsibility.
Classes are structured as workshops. The beginning of the lesson will include a vocal and physical warm-up followed by a devised piece of drama that the children will have created in response to a topic and format chosen. After 15-20 minutes of preparation the pupils will then show their work to the rest of the class.

The second hour of the class will involve either another piece of devised drama or improvisations and games.

When preparing for a production the lessons turn into rehearsals.

Children between the ages of 6-12 are welcome to apply for a place at the academy.

Classes are held every Saturday and inclusive of half term at the Cassiobury Junior School, Bellmount Wood Avenue, Watford.

Group A: 11am - 1pm
Group B: 1.15pm - 3.15pm
