Free emergency contraception for under-25s
Emergency hormonal contraception (EHC), also known as the 'morning after pill', is available free to under-25s from this pharmacy. It is a single pill that must be taken within 72 hours (three days) of unprotected sex to stop you getting pregnant if contraception has failed or not been used.

Only an accredited pharmacist within the pharmacy can dispense free emergency contraception. In a private consultation room they will also offer you a free chlamydia test, discuss ongoing contraception and refer you to the Hertfordshire sexual health service. You must be registered with a GP in Hertfordshire to use this free service.

Please note: only specially-trained pharmacists can provide this free service. It is advisable to telephone the pharmacy before you go to ensure that a pharmacist who can deliver this service is on duty. If the accredited pharmacist is not available you may be directed to go elsewhere or have to pay.

The Tesco Pharmacy is fully wheelchair accessible and has many other facilities for disabled people.
