YC Hertfordshire Independent Living Skills Project at Harpenden Young People's Centre

YC Hertfordshire’s Independent Living Skills programme is for young people in care or care leavers aged 13-21. This project aims to give you the skills and confidence to live more independently and healthily. Come along to the YC Hertfordshire Harpenden Young People's Centre on Thursday evenings, 6.30-8.30pm.

Would you like to build your confidence and skills to be able to live independently? If so, this could be the programme for you!
Come along to the Harpenden Young People's Centre and take part in a 2 hour workshop each week where qualified and experienced YC Hertfordshire youth workers will run fun, interactive and engaging activities to enable you to gain valuable life skills.

YC Hertfordshire’s Independent Living Skills programme is an accredited programme that consists of seven modules:

  • home cooking skills
  • managing your money
  • relationships
  • healthy living
  • emotional wellbeing
  • keeping safe
  • DIY skills


Opportunity image

You will receive a certificate, which will look good on your CV, for every module you complete.

Harpenden Young People's Centre is fully wheelchair accessible.
