The YC Hertfordshire Independent Living Skills programme is for young people in care or care leavers aged 16-21. Come to the YC Hertfordshire Bowes Lyon Young People's Centre in Stevenage to learn important skills that will help you to live more independently and build your confidence.

The YC Hertfordshire Independent Living Skills programme is for young people in care or care leavers in Stevenage or North Herts aged 16-21.

Friendly and supportive YC Hertfordshire youth workers will help you gain valuable life-skills through fun, interactive and engaging activities.

Subjects you'll learn more about include:

  • Cooking - Pearson’s Home Cooking Skills
  • DIY - using materials and equipment for practical projects
  • Budgeting - managing personal finances
  • Healthy living - keeping well emotionally and physically
  • Keeping safe

When you've completed a subject area you will receive City & Guilds qualification, which will enhance your CV.

All YC Hertfordshire youth work projects and programmes enable young people to learn new skills, increase their knowledge and develop confidence, self-esteem and resilience.

The Bowes Lyon Young People's Centre is fully wheelchair accessible.
