YC Hertfordshire runs several different youth projects at the Pioneer Youth Centre in St Albans. You can get involved in all kinds of regular activities as well as live music events and performances. You plan the events that you want to do here! YC Hertfordshire is the new name for Youth Connexions.
The Pioneer Youth Centre provides facilities for young people between the ages of 13 and 17. There are both social and educational programmes on offer. We encourage young people to play an active role in the planning of activities at the Pioneer Youth Centre and this means that what's on offer is always fun, creative and ever-changing!
There are loads of possibilities for activities at the centre, including sports, arts, drama and music. If we can't provide what you need we will provide trips and visits, for example, to the YC Hertfordshire outdoor education centre to try canoeing, rock climbing, caving etc.
We have a four-station computer suite with broadband internet access, a large playing field to the rear of the building and access to the indoor skate park outside of youth project session times.
We also provide information on important issues and want to hear your views too, so there are often discussions on all sorts of topics from relationships, friends and families, sexual health, drugs to football, fashion and what else is going on in the world!
