Gaddesden Place Riding for the Disabled Centre is a registered charity dedicated to teaching disabled people to ride horses. We operate Tuesday through Saturday in term time, and anyone over the age of four can ride with us.
CHIPS runs play schemes for children with additional needs aged 3-19 years. We are looking for volunteers to help at our play schemes on Saturdays (9.30am-1.00pm) and during school holidays (9.00am-4.00pm). There are CHIPS play schemes in Hertford, Ware, Cheshunt, Hoddesdon and Bishop's Stortford. Our volunteers can be as young as 12 years old. If you're doing the Duke of Edinburgh Award, volunteering at a CHIPS play scheme will go towards the service section. We ask for a minimum volunteering commitment of six months. If you are thinking of a career in child care come and gain experience with us. We are happy to give references.
This is an opportunity for those with learning disabilities to get involved in after school activities. If you know of anyone with a learning disability please let them know about this! This is also an opportunity for young people who wish to get involved in volunteering to help children and young people with learning disabilities.
