The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn’t matter who you are, or where you are from, you just need to be aged between 13 and 17 (up to 24 for young people with additional needs), and ready to jump into the best time of your life! The Ware DofE sessions are for young people in the East Herts area and are held once every three weeks on Fridays 6-8pm at the Ware Young People’s Centre (see below for dates).
YC Hertfordshire runs several different youth projects at the Pioneer Youth Centre in St Albans. You can get involved in all kinds of regular activities as well as live music events and performances. If you’re aged between 10 and 17 years old, you can join a St John Ambulance cadet unit. At cadets it's all about fun, adventure and community. As a cadet you will learn first aid and how to save a life. Once qualified, cadets can put their first aid and communication skills into practice by providing first aid to the public at events and teaching first aid to other young people and adults. If you become a St John's Ambulance Cadet you will learn vital skills to be the difference between life and death in an emergency.
