Have your say... make a difference to your local community! The Hertsmere Youth Council is a group of young people who meet to discuss, debate and take action on issues affecting young people in the Hertsmere area. A youth council is somewhere that young people can raise issues and get their views heard by the people who can make a difference. It is also an organisation for change and also aims to promote the good work that young people are doing in the area.
Youth councils are groups of young people aged 11–17, who come together to represent young people in their local area. Nobody knows about the issues affecting young people better than young people themselves, so come along and have your say! The Broxbourne Youth Council, supported by YC Hertfordshire and Broxbourne Borough Council, will enable you to present your views to those who make decisions so that they can work to improve things in the local community. To express an interest or for more information about the Broxbourne Youth Council, please contact YC Hertfordshire on 01992 588220, or just come along!
There's all kinds of things going on at YC Hertfordshire's Bowes Lyon Young People's Centre in Stevenage... from music and drama to table tennis and basketball! Come along and get stuck in! It's all free! YC Hertfordshire is the new name for Youth Connexions.
The Fusion at 96 Project is a YC Hertfordshire project for young adults aged 18-24 with a moderate learning disability and takes place at 96 Shenley Road in Borehamwood. Come along on Monday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. You'll get to spend time with other young adults who live in the area in a safe and relaxing environment. The project is run by professionally trained and supportive youth workers from YC Hertfordshire's Hertsmere Team. You'll also get the chance to develop new interests and learn new life skills.
